I am a freelance costume designer for theatre, dance, film, events, and media. I design distinctive costumes- patterned, built, and fit to the performer's body.
The Design:
The core of my design aesthetic is illustrating and deepening relationships and heightening emotions through the manipulation of color, silhouette, and texture in costume. Whether I am designing garments for theatre, film or dance, my designs begin with a concept, founded in fashion history, art, history, politics and culture.

My strong construction and flat-patterning skills allow me to create the garments needed without compromising my design concept. I am accustomed to building unique costumes and enjoy developing new techniques to accomplish the desired look.
The Designer:
I have a particular interest in Middle Eastern costume history, and have studied dress in Syria, Turkey, Jordan, and Morocco.
Aside from my work as a designer, I was Costume Shop Manager for Columbia College Chicago's Spectacle Costume Shop for three years and was Shop Manager at Northlight Theatre. I have worked as an intern and stitcher in several other shops including The Milwaukee Ballet, The Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, and Western Washington University's costume shops.
I am a Company Member of Collaboraction and Signal Ensemble Theatre and an Artistic Associate of First Folio Theatre.
